Interactive showing

By Anita Stienstra

Warm up your vocal chords, cut up those chintz curtains and parade, bike or skip on down to the Hoogland Center for the Arts for the Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music. On Nov. 23 and 24, watch the classic film on the big screen and interact with the movie under the direction of Johnny Molson, morning cohost on ALICE-FM. This is a huge audience participation event with subtitles for all songs. Molson will lead attendees through a vocal warmup and provide a comprehensive guide to the accompanying actions and use of an interactive fun pack. Dress up in your favorite Sound of Music costume and join the parade. Having started in the U.K. in 1999, the Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music show has become a worldwide hit, playing to packed houses across the globe with more than 10,000 performances in 11 countries.
