For a band that formed just 15 months ago, Angels n’ Outlaws are making a mark soon and sudden on the central Illinois scene. Band members Perry Prior (lead vocals and guitar), Dan Cartwright (vocals and lead guitar), Justin Tansky (guitar), Rob Coleman (drums) and Todd Ambuehl (bass) attribute the success to a good chemistry between the musicians that transfers into a good time for the audience. With a set list including several Lynyrd Skynyrd numbers, Bob Segers hits and Eric Clapton covers, the band “aims to please, playing everything you love to hear” and by doing so have been a hit at area bars and festivals in places like Athens, Sherman, Mt. Pulaski, Virden, Chatham, Riverton, Petersburg and New Berlin. With a bold but simple plan of continuing to play popular cover songs to entertain the audience while working to perfect the music of the band, the group intends to solidify its hold on central Illinois in the future.
