Making a splash into the local music market for the first time, The Stone and Biscuit Band debuts this weekend with a three-hour show at Broadway Nights, the former On Broadway night club. The sextet, comprised of Joe O’Neill (bass), Chris O’Neill (vocals), Shelley Mulvaney (vocals, flute), Matt Ellis (guitar, vocals), Ed Boyd (keyboards/guitar) and Jeff Betchel (drums), formed specifically to be a variety-type, crowd-pleasing act playing a wide range of music with fun in mind. Faced with the dilemma of picking songs, they made a set list ranging throughout the four decades that span the ages of the band members. With players from 22 to 57, the group found plenty of good music to work from and deliver a terrific bunch of songs in the rock vein, covering the genres of Southern Rock, Country Rock, Classic Rock, and Blues by including tunes from Gretchen Wilson, Black Crowes, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Santana and many others.
