Larry Shiner, UIS Professor Emeritus of Philosophy, History and Visual Arts, will present "Marrakech: Art and Architecture." This ancient crossroads of Morocco remains a fascinating destination for the serious and sybaritic alike. We will look at major architectural works and their decorations, such as the Madrasa Ben Youssef and the Saadian Tombs, along with the surrounding Medina and its narrow, winding streets, its palaces, souks and the famous Jemaa el Fna.
Brown Bags are in the Michael Victor II Art Library of the Springfield Art Assn., 700 N. 4th, 523-2631, at noon, free, and open to the public. Coffee, tea and cookies are served, and lunches are welcome.
