Shelley Miller and Jeremiah Birnbaum

As these two acclaimed singer-songwriters work through an eight-day Midwest tour, the music is not the only thing being celebrated. Birnbaum spent a good part of 2012 recovering from a vocal cord injury and is now back singing again, while Miller is warming up for a Northwest tour that includes a prestigious and intense songwriting competition at Sisters Folk Festival in Oregon. Miller and Birnbaum, close friends and collaborators for several years, each recently released albums, as they continue the march through the world of music. Miller’s fourth, February, contains tunes all composed during a song-a-day writing tear in February of 2011. Birnbaum’s record Lucky is his first acoustic release after years of performing and recording with his roots rock band, The Ramblers. Micah Walk and Pete Sander, two of Springfield’s finest young songwriters, join in the song sharing show held in the friendly basement confines of Charlie’s Club, an acoustic listening room gem of a venue.
