April 19, 1944–Oct. 18, 2012

Mike was truly a wonderful and selfless man. No matter what challenges he was facing at any given time, he always had a warm smile, hearty laugh and a story to share with anyone who was near him. He was extremely devoted to his wife and very proud of his children and grandchildren.
Mike’s generosity was well-known to the many organizations he has donated to over the years. He was always happy to help the community as much as he could, and felt bad when he had to occasionally say no to donation requests. He was proud to have served our country as a Marine and has shared many stories of his time in Vietnam.

As a very open and honest man, he was just a delight to be around. Many of his customers at Schramm-Bacher Jewelers on S. MacArthur Boulevard would come into the store at for a quick stop and end up sitting down for a long conversation. He made time for everyone no matter how busy his day was, and made sure his customers knew how much he appreciated them.

Having worked for Mike for over six years, I have seen what a great man he really was. He was always quick to compliment on a job well done and continually showed his appreciation. He was truly the best boss anyone could ask for. I have never felt like I was just an employee, but definitely felt like part of a team which was more like family.

It has been an honor to work side by side with Mike, and he will be greatly missed.
