HOW TO AUDITION

Do you find yourself belting out songs and dancing? Or have you ever imagined yourself on stage? Before you audition for the next big hit, why not have the proper training? The Springfield Municipal Opera will hold an Auditions Workshop in preparation for their upcoming auditions for the 2013 season. The free workshop is planned for Feb. 16 at the Hoogland Center for the Arts. The workshops will give aspiring actors the chance to learn what the audition process entails, including how to register and prepare for an audition, the expectations of each show’s staff and an opportunity to speak with each show’s director and staff. This year the Muni will present Les Miserables, Dreamgirls and Peter Pan as part of its 2013 lineup. The first opportunity to sign up for audition time slots will begin immediately after the auditions workshop. The children’s workshop will begin at 10 a.m. and the adult workshop will follow at 1 p.m. Muni auditions for adults will be held March 2, 3 and 9, while Muni children’s auditions will be held March 16.
