Mad genius

art11280

Springfield Theatre Center presents the four-person play, Proof, on two weekends, April 26-28, May 3-5. The story of love, trust, sacrifice and the disputed line between madness and genius, centers on Catherine, who cares for her genius but mentally unstable mathematician father, Robert. Robert dies and comes back in flashbacks as Catherine tries to prove that a math proof is her own and not that of her dad, and that she is not unstable like him. Alex Heinen plays Catherine; Harvey Mack, Robert; Mike Nelson as Hal; and Catherine Grant as the sister. Get a preview of Heinen, also a singer, on her YouTube channel, The Eccentricities of a Nightingale, with more than 12,000 subscribers and some videos with views of almost 30,000. This is Nelson’s first play. Director Jen Wallner calls him “great.”
