Keen on green

Celebrate Earth Day with the City of Springfield at Earth Fair on Saturday, April 27. Activities will be held downtown this year at Union Station Museum and Park just west of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum. Browse an array of vendors who will offer environmentally friendly products and services available in our area. Bring your bicycle to get it fixed, create a reused art project and view a recycled art exhibit inside the old train depot. There will be kids’ activities and CWLP Energy Services will again host the Great Refrigerator Roundup Decorating Contest. Vote via a paperless voting booth for your favorite decorated refrigerator by middle and high school students. Zero Waste Challenge is the theme of this year’s Earth Fair, held rain or shine. Learn to reduce your carbon footprint while having fun.
