Did you say watering holes?

In the last couple of years we lost several of our favorite downtown watering holes (Underground City Tavern, Top of the Hilton, the martini bar - I can't even remember it's name! But look, now we have a whole new crop to enjoy. The bar at Bennigan’s (at the Hilton) is doing a great job helping non-profit groups raise money with their Movers & Shakers nights. Bar None is not so new anymore (but a great addition for music) along with the long established BrewHaus, Marly's, Stella Blue (for those who's fun begins at 11pm) and the Alamo. And now there is Remy’s on Monroe, the new jazz joint on Monroe – where Frank Parker and company can be heard on Saturday each week, Celtic Mist (where the blarney is flowing 7 nights a week and they have a hooley once a month). Not to play favorites there is also the Plaza Bar on Adams, JP Kelly's and the small but trendy spot at the State House Inn (theNo Name Bar with cool Jetson’s style chairs). Clearly Springfield loves the nightlife!
