Upcoming Events: Sustainable Springfield

Sustainable Springfield is hosting some great events in the next couple of weeks!

Mark Bauer, CEO of Bauer Power, one of the largest Midwest providers/installers of renewable energy, will speak about the potential for solar/wind power in local homes and businesses.

Monday, Feb. 8
7th Annual Composting Symposium: Backyard, Business and Beyond
12:30-4:30 p.m.
University of Illinois Extension Sangamon-Menard Unit Office
Illinois State Fairgrounds
Register online here

"The symposium is a forum for sharing composting, stimulating the composting market, and bringing composters, educators and business people together so that everyone can benefit from learning about this excellent organic soil amendment.

"The symposium will provide an excellent opportunity to learn about composting organic materials from national and local experts. The symposium will cover topics ranging from backyard composting for beginners to large scale projects for municipalities or farms."

Afterward, you can build your own compost bin. I'm THERE. (Not sarcasm - I'm legit. interested.)

Both events are free and open to the public.
