SUMMER FOOD

School’s out for summer, and that means kids from low-income households across the city may not get enough to eat. But thanks to federal aid, public schools around the nation can offer summer food programs to ensure kids stay nourished during the summer months. Six Springfield public schools will host breakfast and lunch this summer. Kids eat free, while adults can eat breakfast for $2 and lunch for $3.50. See below for a schedule For more information.   • Butler Elementary – 1701 S. MacArthur Blvd.
    8-8:30 a.m. and 12-12:30 p.m. on June 3 – Aug. 9
  • Dubois Elementary – 120 S. Lincoln St.
    8:15-8:45 and 10:45-11:15 on June 10 – June 28
  • Iles Elementary – 1700 S. 15th St.
    8-8:30 a.m. and 11:30-12 p.m. on June 17 – July 26
  • Lanphier High School – 1300 N. 11th St.
    8-8:30 a.m. and 11:30-12 p.m. on June 10 – July 19
  • Lee Elementary – 1201 Bunn St.
    8:45-9:15 a.m. and 11:30-12 p.m. on June 3 – June 28
  • Ridgley Elementary – 2040 N. Eighth St.
    8-8:30 a.m. and 12-12:30 p.m. on June 3 – Aug. 9
