Truly a representation of the interplay of generations in the Springfield music scene, New City Road, a new band in town, combines family members with longtime local players to create a special blend of musical magic. Featuring three members of the Mundstock family, dad Scott (former Post War Fords drummer) on vocals and rhythm guitar, daughter Aley on lead vocals and son Ian on drums, plus Ryan King (in Escape Goatz) on lead guitar and banjo, Harry Lounsberry (in numerous bands) on keyboards and Kevin Roberts on bass, the band is off to a roaring start. (Recently while Ian attended his basic training, Dad played drums while Scott Nichols (in Escape Goatz and from Lost Boys) filled in on guitar. With a Sangamon County Fair Bud Pavilion gig under their belt and the upcoming shows listed above, along with Bud tent events at the Illinois State Fair, plus dates at the Edinburg Labor Day Picnic, Williamsville Fall Fest, Curve Inn, Boondocks and other local venues, NCR is already in the big arena of area bands.
