REMEMBER THE ALAMO
I have written letters to the editor on a variety of issues but have never written one appreciating food served by a local eatery. I am doing it the first time here. I just could not resist. Being a good cook myself, I always appreciate good, tasty food and always try to make it a point to let the cook or cooks know that I liked their food.

I have been working in the Springfield downtown area and frequent a few of the restaurants there. I go to the Alamo Restaurant for my lunch quite often. We (my family and I) love Mexican food and have been to most of the Mexican restaurants we know of in town. We have had enchilada at every Mexican restaurant in town, but after eating enchilada at Alamo, I can say that nobody makes a better enchilada than Alamo does.

Alamo makes excellent enchilada all the time. I am a very strict vegetarian and am very picky about how they prepare my food. The people at Alamo take care of my special needs. If you like Mexican food, such as enchiladas and tacos, you need to visit Alamo.

I would like to thank the owner of the Alamo, Mr. Barry Friedman, for hiring people who consistently make high-quality food. My thanks to Jimmy Hickey and Andrew Bennett for being such great cooks and taking care of my needs. My thanks to Ms. Rhonda Turner for delivering my food to my table quickly.

WHERE DID WMD GO?
One of reasons we might have to go into Syria is to secure weapons of mass destruction (chemical, biological and nuclear) to keep them from falling into the hands of Islamic Jihadists.

This brings up an interesting historical footnote. Several books and news articles said before the Iraq war started, Russian truck convoys and civilian aircraft with the seats removed were used to ferry WMDs into Syria. No less than Iraqi Air Force General Sada, the number two in command, verified this information to allies after the war during debriefings.

Our intelligence community is now very interested to be able to answer definitively as to whether Syrian WMDs are of Iraqi origin.

If this proves to be true, it would destroy one of the far left’s most iconic, mythological mantras (including that of Senator Barack Obama) that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq prior to the invasion. Remember, “Bush lied, people died.”

COMPREHENSIVE SEX ED
Planned Parenthood applauds Gov. Pat Quinn for signing a law (HB 2675) that ensures that teens in Illinois have access to medically accurate, evidence-based, age-appropriate, comprehensive information when they receive sex education in Illinois public schools.

Research shows that comprehensive sex education that includes information about abstinence and contraception delays sexual activity among youth and increases the use of effective protection against unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections when sexual activity occurs. Planned Parenthood of Illinois is committed to working with Illinois public schools to implement this law.
