DEADLINE? WHAT DEADLINE?
Accused of hiding assets, embattled entrepreneur Jeffrey Parsons has missed a court-ordered deadline to respond to allegations that he lied under oath while concealing more than $1 million from a federal bankruptcy court. Parsons had until last Friday to respond to accusations from bankruptcy trustees Jeffrey Richardson and Charles Covey, who have both accused him of hiding cash and valuables from them and from creditors. Michael Logan, Parsons’ lawyer, said that he will not file a response, but would not say why, citing attorney-client privilege. In such cases, courts typically issue default judgments; Richardson and Covey are asking that Parsons not be discharged from bankruptcy. In a motion filed last month, Logan said that his client couldn’t promptly respond to the allegations because FBI agents have seized pertinent records. Is Parsons under criminal investigation? “I have no knowledge of that,” Logan answered.
