Holiday Book Drive

Through Nov. 30

The brainchild of retired teachers, Holiday Book Drive is a program to get books into the hands of children who might not have the opportunity to learn to love reading. In its fourth year, donations of new books for children from birth to age 12 can be dropped off through Nov. 30 at the following locations: Chatham Public Library, Chatham Presbyterian Church, Rochester Elementary 2-3, Rochester High School, Trinity Lutheran Preschool-Auburn, Sherman Elementary, Williamsville Library, Williamsville Methodist Church, State Journal-Register, Safe School Program and Bridge Club of Springfield. The new books will be given to Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery, Catholic Charities, Sojourn House, Family Service Center and 13 other service organizations. Cash donations may be sent to Holiday Book Drive, Bank and Trust Co., P O Box 228, Chatham, IL 62629.
