Captivating cinema

 

The Molly Schlich Independent/International film series brings eight critically acclaimed films to the AMC Parkway 8 big screen weekly beginning Jan. 12 through the first of March. For 22 years, the wildly popular annual series has packed the house at each of three weekly screenings for each film. Films debut on Sundays at 1 p.m. and are repeated at 4 p.m. and the following Tuesday night. Flicks this year are: The Stories We Tell; The Great Beauty; Antarctica, A Year of Ice; The Hunt; Much Ado About Nothing; 20 Feet From Stardom; Kon Tiki and Wadjda. Proceeds from the series benefit the Springfield Art Association Michael Victor II Art Library.
