Giving and gifting

Local artist Stan Squires offers limited edition prints of three Springfield landmarks through March 31 as a fundraiser for the Salvation Army. Half of the proceeds go to the nonprofit. The illustrations include Lincoln Park’s stone bridge (pictured), Illinois Watch Company and Pillsbury Mills Flour Plant. Only 100 of the 11-inch by 14-inch prints on 16-inch by 20-inch double white mats are available. Squires retired after 29 years in advertising to focus on watercolor painting. With a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from University of Illinois, Squires attends 10 art shows a year. Awards include first place in the 2011 Lincoln Art and Balloon Festival, first place in the Children’s Art Fair at the Old Capitol Art Fair 2012, and second place for watercolors at the 2013 Illinois State Fair. Get all three landscape prints for $110. The artist will deliver free in town.
