NEW GENHKIDS LEADER NAMED
GenHkids is a Springfield nonprofit group that works to improve the health of children in hopes of fostering a generation of healthy kids. The organization’s initiatives include several local fresh food programs in schools.
Dillman has worked with the group over the past year and was most recently the development director. She has experience in fundraising, program management, event planning and leadership in both volunteer and elected positions.
As a mother herself, Dillman said she understands parents’ hectic lives make it hard to always make healthy choices.
“But we can, and must, do it for our children,” Dillman said. ”My work with genHkids, and with the children in our community, has convinced me that this is one of the most pressing issues we face.”
Since genHkids founder Dr. Kemia Sarraf first began forming the group in 2008, it was primarily volunteer-operated until 2013, when the program’s growth made it possible to hire full-time staff members.
