Coming to rock Springfield for the first time, brothers Bryan and Matt Basler make a “power-duo” unlike any other. Voted the best rock band in St. Louis for 2013 by readers of the Riverfront Times, the awesome twosome has opened for the likes of Wesley Willis, The Detroit Cobras and Earl Greyhound. They’ve released several recordings including some acoustic, country-flavored sounds that balance out the hard rocking, crunch-pop of the best of their rockers, providing a song selection to satisfy many tastes and desires. Aside from the well received albums, Tok claims a live show that “absolutely levels rooms” with the energetic music performance. From the “effortless legato shredding” by guitarist Bryan that “must be seen to be believed” to the “leaping bass-neck slashes” of bassist Matt combined with “fancy footwork and whipping of belly-length hair,” the brothers Basler both belt out the vocals to create a show of incredible pure power and a sure sense of sonic showmanship. Joining Tok are local favorites the Seething Coast, Boon and Nil8.
