Editor's note 1/5/17

In anticipation of the new administration taking office Jan. 20, many Americans are asking themselves what they can do to make these perilous times better. The Dominican Sisters of Springfield suggest joining them in an effort to promote civil discourse. The sisters earlier explained that their vows of poverty, chastity and obedience are “a prophetic witness against the abuse of money, sex and power.” Now they offer a series of noontime brown bag seminars on three successive Wednesdays after the inauguration for those “who want to walk together on a journey of recommitment and healing for our nation.” The first is on the subject of dismantling racist structures, the second on caring for Earth and the third on prayer.
