Originally from the Taylorville area, Ty took off for Nashville about 10 years ago with dreams of becoming a songwriter in Music City, U.S.A. By that time, he’d been a writer and performer since his youth and was well prepared for his time in Tennessee. Brando quickly established himself as the pre-eminent host at some of those famous songwriter nights in Nashville, at such celebrated venues as Hall of Fame Lounge, Norm’s River Roadhouse, Matty’s Alley, the Maxwell House Hotel, Mad Donna’s Loft in East Nashville, Ugly Mugs Coffee in East Nashville and Kimbro’s in neighboring Franklin. In 2012 he came in right behind the world-famous Bluebird Cafe in the Nashville Scene reader awards for hosting the best songwriter nights. Brando is a performer and writer first, though he uses the host work to meet, mingle, create and collaborate with the writers of the hits. Through these connections, he has had co-writes with some of Nashville’s finest and continues to work to land cuts, promote songs, and achieve placements in films and TV.
