STAR-STUDDED FAIR LINEUP
A star-studded lineup is ready to take the Illinois State Fair by storm. Chase Rice, Alabama, Jason Derulo, Finger Death Punch and John Mellencamp were recently announced as the first five headlining acts for the 2017 Illinois State Fair.
Rice is the first headliner, scheduled to take the Grandstand stage on Friday, Aug. 11. Rice is best known for the songs “Ready Set Roll” and “Ride.”
On Wednesday, Aug. 16, Country Music Hall of Fame band Alabama will take the stage. The trio has 43 number one singles to their credit and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a career spanning six decades.
Derulo headlines the stage Thursday, Aug. 17. A multi-platinum performing artist, Derulo has 50 million singles worldwide with chart-topping hits such as “Trumpets,” “Talk Dirty” and “Fight for You.”
On Saturday, Aug. 18, metal band Five Finger Death Punch will perform. Known for songs such as “I Apologize,” and “Wrong Side of Heaven,” the band recently completed an Arena Tour to rave reviews.
Mellencamp will close out the fair on Sunday, Aug. 20. Inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008, Mellencamp has performed in front of live audiences for over 40 years. The 2017 Illinois State Fair will be run Aug. 10-20 in Springfield.
