Crafting fun for the family
Treat yourself to a craft day in the village of Elkhart on Saturday, March 18. The second annual crafting event is hosted by three locally owned and operated businesses in the heart of downtown Elkhart: Horsefeathers, Birdsong Books and Vintage and The Country Bumpkin. Each shop will host a craft led by the some of the area’s finest crafters and artisans, including watercolor painting with Renee Sisk, fabric collage with Jean Tweet, and beginning crochet with Jamie Theobald. Each craft will be offered during the morning and afternoon sessions, with an hour-long break for a soup and sandwich lunch at The Wild Hare Café between sessions. The Elkhart Public Library and Route 66 Slot Car Raceway will host additional family-friendly activities throughout the day. The cost per craft session is $20 and includes all materials. Lunch can be purchased from the Wild Hare Café for $10. Advance reservations are required, and can be made at each individual shop, online at http://elkharthistoricalsociety.org or by calling 947-2238.
