finishing my barn book vol 4:

our old barney had a “moon eye”
– glassy white hence its naming –
after much research I found this
to be an acute iridocyclitis of horses
invading one or both eyes it subsides
only to recur at intervals of varying
length and usually ends in blindness
the cause is uncertain some associate
it with leptospirosis it doesn’t appear
to be contagious – maybe more is now
known – next, where have I recorded
my cow researches on “lumpjaw” also
on “schistosomus reflexus” – that’s
“born inside out” – well, a lot of us are
feeling that way these days, aren’t we?
