Awe-inspiring art

The 56th annual Old Capitol Art Fair will take place in downtown Springfield on Saturday, May 20, and Sunday, May 21. The fair will feature fine art for sale in a wide variety of mediums, created by approximately 160 participating artists from around the country. The Old Capitol Art Fair will also showcase award-winning art created by local students inside the Old State Capitol on both days. The popular children’s tent will return for 2017, offering kids ages 2-15 the opportunity to shop for quality art without the influence of their parents. The children’s tent will be available on both Saturday and Sunday or until all the art sells out, and all children’s tent artworks will be reasonably priced from $4-$6. Other attractions include The Community Project, where attendees can band together to re-create a piece of art by one of the participating OCAF artists, live music from eight local bands and a variety of food and beverage vendors.
