Up, up and away

Don’t miss the annual Lincoln Balloon Festival, held Aug. 25-26, at the Logan County Airport in Lincoln. This fun festival features balloon glows at dusk, evening and morning hot air balloon flights, daily tethered hot air balloon rides, a kids’ zone featuring family friendly activities, concessions and drinks for purchase, plus live musical entertainment by Hat Trick (Friday night) and Hereoso (Saturday night). Paid balloon flights are available Saturday and Sunday mornings, at 6:30 a.m., for $250 per person, with each ride lasting 45 minutes through one hour, weather pending. Flight reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made by calling 735-2385. Those interested in experiencing the high of a hot air balloon ride without the dizzying heights of a flight will enjoy tethered balloon rides, available for $20 per adult rider and $15 per rider age 12 and under. Additional attractions include a kids’ zone provided by House of Bouncers which features bounce houses, an obstacle course, miniature golf, a rock wall, face painting, sand art, glitter tattoos and more. Wristbands and tickets are required for kids’ zone activities.
