Other highlights include Elf on the Shelf, complimentary horse-drawn carriage rides by Red Gate Farm, the Springfield Youth Performance Group’s “Elves on the Plaza,” roasted chestnuts, a lighted SMTD bus selfie station and more. Additionally, two musical performances will take place at the Old State Capitol on Saturday, Dec. 9: Seraphim at 1 p.m. and The Old Capitol Choral Singers at 4 p.m. Other special features include the Jaycees Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m. and a menorah ceremony at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13.
