Make a difference

On Saturday, May 5, connect with progressive community organizations during the Second Annual Community Involvement Fair, hosted by SpringfieldCall2Action at Laurel United Methodist Church. The fair will feature more than two dozen local activist and advocacy organizations as well as two workshop sessions geared towards those who wish to take a more active role in community advocacy. The first workshop, titled “Learn to Lobby,” will be presented by Larry Luster at 11 a.m., and will teach attendees how to partake in lobbying at local, state and federal levels. The second workshop, titled “Media Mojo” will be presented by Stephanie Frotodo at 1 p.m., and will teach participants how they can bring awareness to causes via social media. This is a child-friendly event, free to the public. For more information about the Second Annual Community Involvement Fair and SpringfieldCall2Action, visit http://springfieldcall2action.org.
