christmaspoem #2

christmaspoem #2

can’t write about new years still in xmas mode those louvre paintings uffizi the babe never has a stitch on I bet mary’s nice robe doesn’t stay nice very long and no laundromat around the corner the middle panel when I paint my triptych will have a diapered babe mama’s expression will be serene because she is secure st john who hangs on her knee needs one too he’s surely not yet potty trained the left panel a sweetly sweating virgin rub-a-dub with one of those corrugated boards my grandma used in the right with tuscan trees and sun behind her she’ll be humming hanging up white squares with clothespins in her mouth.
