2001 marked the first sights and sounds of BigFur, Springfield’s original, alternative rock band created to define a new musical experience on the Midwest scene. In spite of rocky roads here and there with band member business combined with a definite case of drummer-disappearance phenomenon, the core of the band stayed together and weathered the rock-n-roll storms. During the past eight years the group of friends played heavyweight regional clubs such as Mississippi Nights in St. Louis, Elbow Room in Chicago, the Canopy Club in Champaign, and the Liquid Lyric Lounge in Madison and produced two CDs of all original material. With the release of CD number three, the 10-song recording, Counting the Days We’ve Lost (recorded at Waterfront Studios in Springfield), BigFur members, Glenn Dillman (vocals), Chris Barnett (guitars), Colm Brewer (bass), LarryCaulk (drums) and Cameron Yates (lead guitar) prepare to promote the band throughout the Midwest in live shows and with radio airplay.
