Broken Stone

Broken Stone

Known as one of Springfield’s finest presenters of modern radio rock, Broken Stone covers a range of groups, including contemporary bands like Breaking Benjamin, Velvet Revolver and Seether, along with classics from Dio and Mississippi Queen. In nearly four years of rocking the capital city and area towns at fairs, festivals, bars and clubs, the band claim of, “if there’s a venue in Springfield we’ve played it” seems absolutely true. Voted runner-up in the best new band category for Illinois Times’ 2009 Best of Springfield issue, Broken Stone works hard to entertain and interact with the audience often encouraging onstage participation with fan sit-ins. Band members Eldon Davis (guitar), Kent Starr (guitar, lead vocals), Kenny Duffy (bass, backing vocals) and Justin Martin (drums), pledge to “strive to recreate every song to make it as authentic as possible” and “to always be better than the last show.” With that kind of dedication, the band shows no signs of stopping and just keeps rocking.
