Kentucky Knife Fight

With a name only a southern Illinois band mother could love, Kentucky Knife Fight arose from a raucous open mic night at the legendary Stagger Inn Again in Edwardsville to become one of the hardest rocking and most up and coming bands in the alt-country vein from the St. Louis area. Jason Holler (vocals), Nate Jones (guitar), Curt Brewer (guitar), Mr. Cool (bass), and Handsome James Baker (drums) came together about five years ago and have produced several recordings with a new album, We’re all nameless here, set for a July 24 release. A couple members originate from Springfield and the band plays here a few times each year as the traveling tours broaden while the group horizons expand. In various reviews names like the Replacements, the Stooges and Bob Dylan appear and words like twang, bark, crunch, rural folk, hair metal, pop punk, and jacked-up rockabilly float in and out describing the sound of KKF.
