PJ Summers Band

After friends submitted one of his songs to a local radio station contest and listeners liked what they heard, PJ Summers, the music minister of Koke Mill Christian Church, felt the calling and added acoustic Christian rocker to his God-given and driven work. With Summers covering the songwriting duties plus acoustic guitar and vocals, the band of Mike Camerano (drums), Nick Idle (electric guitar), Braden Blakley (bass), Mark Sanders (percussion) and Jeremiah Montgomery on the BGV’s, makes the music work. Last April the group released an all-original, 10-song CD, Wait For You, produced by Grammy and Dove award-nominated studio wizard Stephen Leiweke at his Yackland Studios in Nashville, garnering significant airplay on Christian music stations. Besides being downtown on the Fourth, PJSB also play the Lake Springfield Marina party with the Station on July 2, the Cornerstone Festival near Macomb on July 3, the Decatur Celebration Aug. 8, and Springfield’s own contemporary Christian music event, the Powerlight Festival, at the Lincoln Stage on the last day of the Illinois State Fair.
