PIZZA FOR LIFE

One Springfield man could win free pizza for life.

Blair Dial submitted “The Big Bonanza,” a pizza topped with barbecue sauce, bacon, beef, ham, jalapenos, onions and tomatoes, for the Papa’s Specialty Pizza Challenge, a contest put on by Papa John’s that would put his pizza on the menu and potentially win him $10,000 and free pizza for life.

The pizza Dial submitted was prepared and tasted by judges Ted Allen, of Food Network’s “Chopped,” Rich Eisen, of the NFL Network and Serious Eats blogger Adams Kuban out of 10 semifinalists and placed Dial’s in the top three, moving it on to the finals.

The pizza will be on the menu from Aug. 2 to Aug. 29, where the pizza that proves to be the most popular will win its creator the grand prize, as well as a spot in one of the “Papa’s in the House” commercials and a $1,000 budget to promote their pizza.
