Alejandro Escovedo

art7727

Considered one of the most prolific and profound artists in the Americana genre, Alejandro Escovedo quite simply is legendary. From his early days with punk/country/rockers Rank & File in the 1980s through a brilliant solo career nearly cut short by a serious bout with Hepatitis C in 2003, the Austin-based artist plays blistering electric guitar and a sensitive acoustic, writes insightful and meaningful songs, puts on a helluva rocking show and, from all recollections, is a decent fellow to boot. Backed by the Sensitive Boys, a stellar group with Hector Munoz (drums), David Pulkingham (guitar, keyboards) and Bobby Daniel (bass), the combination of musicianship, songwriting and stage presence creates a truly and absolutely incredible live music experience. His most recent album, Street Songs of Love, produced by veteran Tony Visconti, features guest appearances by a guy named Bruce Springsteen and somebody called Ian Hunter.
