Pulitzer Prize winning author and renowned presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin visits Springfield to open the new Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum “Team of Rivals” exhibit, titled after her book about Lincoln and his Cabinet. Following the 9 a.m. ceremony, Goodwin signs books from 10 a.m. to noon in the museum book store. Later in the day at 7 p.m., Goodwin delivers “The Art and Craft of Storytelling: From JFK, LBJ and FDR to Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt” at Sangamon Auditorium. The lecture focuses on the process of finding unique and interesting ways to tell new stories about historical figures and Lincoln’s gift for storytelling. Following is a book signing.
