City of Springfield trick-or-treat hours are 4:30-8 p.m. on Oct. 31, but there’s more Halloween fun for kids before this date. The Lincoln Home offers free Safe Trick-or-Treat on Friday, Oct. 29, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, head downtown at 10 a.m. to the Farmers Market where moms.org holds a Halloween at the Market costume contest for children 12 years and younger. On both Oct. 30 and 31, dress up and trek to Henson Robinson Zoo’s Zoolie Ghoulie between 1-5 p.m. Admissions is $3 for trick-or-treaters and $2 for accompanying adults. Oct. 31, the Illinois State Museum has trick-or-treating and more from 12-5 p.m. during their “Where Are the Wild Things” Halloween event. Admission is $2 per trick-or-treater, $1 for accompanying adults.
