Shades of blue and great

art8412

Electric and acoustic blues will rock and sway Sangamon Auditorium, UIS on March 4 in what should be a fabulous show. Rock and Roll Hall of Famers and former Jefferson Airplane members, Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady team up with blues icon Charlie Musselwhite and two-time Grammy-winner Jim Lauderdale. Legends Kaukonen and Casady founded the band Hot Tuna and are its core memebers. Guitar-playing Kaukoenen once played for Janis Joplin and basist Casady was one of the first to play bass as if it was a lead instrument. Musselwhite is known as one of the best harmonica players in the country and also plays guitar. He has over 30 albums to his name. Lauderdale won Artist of the Year and Song of the Year at the Honors and Awards Show held by the Americana Music Association in 2002. His songs have been recorded by numerous top country singers such as Patty Loveless, George Jones, The Dixie Chicks, George Strait, Vince Gill, and he has toured with many others.
