Rajmohan Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, talks at Laurel United Methodist Church on Sunday, Sept. 18. This is a September Days of Compassion Event and is sponsored by Laurel Peacemakers. Like his grandfather, Rajmohan Gandhi is and has been engaged in efforts against corruption and inequalities. He is research professor at the Center for South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a former member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament, and led the Indian delegation to the UN Human Rights Commission in Geneva in 1990. Gandhi advocates and talks around the world and is the author of several books including his latest, A Tale of Two Revolts: India 1857 & the American Civil War.
