Knoepfle 3-25-04

sad young man singing

crunchbirds and stormfoxes
here I am and Im eighteen
so what the hell if the light is green
Ive got nowhere to go

theres my father hes fifty-four
theres my mother shes forty-two
so tell me what am I to do
Ive got nowhere to go

what if the woman I marry
turns six years old today
supposing that I met her what would I say
Ive got nowhere to go

Ill buy a box of ginger snaps
at the local grocery store
then Ill buy another in case she wants some more
I ve got nowhere to go

Ill go to the montessori school
and watch the children play
maybe my wife is jumping rope today
Ive got nowhere to go
