Join individuals interested in healthier and safer foods at the 4th Annual Slow Food Springfield Film Festival held at Abraham Lincoln Unitarian Universalist Congregation on Friday, Jan. 27. The 50-minute film Grow! screens at 7 p.m. The documentary features 20 young sustainable farmers, many who left the city with dreams of working the land to live a fulfilling and healthy life. Following is a panel discussion with young area farmers Hans and Katie Bishop of PrairiErth Farm in Atlanta and Zack and Annie Metzger of Samara Farm in Shelbyville. Refreshments and beverages, by RealCuisine Catering, will be available for purchase. The festival is sponsored by Slow Food Springfield, Abraham Lincoln Unitarian Universalist Congregation and the University of Illinois Extension.
