RESALE FOR RELIEF

Do you like resale shopping but don’t like having to put on pants? Now you can surf for second-hand deals in your undies and help make a difference in Springfield at the same time. M.E.R.C.Y. Communities, which provides housing and supporting services for homeless women and their at-risk children in the Springfield area, has launched an online resale shop featuring furniture and miscellaneous home furnishings. The online shop brings M.E.R.C.Y. one step closer to its goal of self-sufficiency, and the proceeds go to support the group’s programs. Since its start in 1999, M.E.R.C.Y. has served more than 300 families. “The store provides a unique connection between our homeless families, and the caring people who want to help.  Every donation, consignment or sale, brings benefit,” says Bob Hall, President of the Board of Directors. “We are excited about the online capabilities and the new doors it will open.” Check it out at www.mercycommunities.org.
