Between The Cracks: Wir Können

Once again, Faingold at Large proudly presents Between the Cracks - the recurring feature designed to shine a light onto Springfield-area bands, and all in their own words, to boot. Join us, won't you? There's gold between them thar cracks!

Today's BTC flashlight shines on youthful emo-rockers Wir Können.

Band name: Wir Können

Web site: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Wir-K%C3%B6nnen/531395936913921

Personnel: Austin Connelly (Guitar/Sweet soothing vocals that will make you cry tears); Mitch Baker (Sweet tasty delicious savory riffs on the guitar/Groovy bass lines/Gang vocals); Avery Otten (Hitting Things With Sticks/ Gang Vocals)

Where do you hail from? We come from the '90s. We're all '90s kids.

What's in a name, particularly yours? Wir Können is "We Can" in German and I (Austin) should know because I'm the president of the German Club

When did you form? Like late June, I think?

Releases/discography: Glow/Mani Pedi Cassingle (Nov. 2013); 2013 Demo (Dec. 2013)

How do you pay the bills? We're huge rock stars. We make the big money to play at your birthday parties. Please book us for your birthday parties.

What artists have had the biggest impact on you? I (Austin) say Anthony Raneri of Bayside, Mitch says Evan Weiss of Into It, Over It and They're/Their/There, Avery says System of a Down

Finish this sentence: If we didn't have to worry about money, we'd… we don't have to worry about money because money is stupid (we actually do have to worry about money because everyone has to worry about money)

See them at: Black Sheep Cafe, 1320 S. Eleventh St, with Mario Cannamela and Dan Mariska and the Boys Choir.
