Sweet satire

Legacy Theatre opens its doors Sept. 28 for A HA! Theatre’s production of Sordid Lives. You’ll be in stitches over this musical-comedy melodrama about a Texas family of assorted quirky characters as they gather for the funeral of their matriarch after she dies in a roadside motel under less-than-Christian circumstances. A talented cast of local actors brings to life this funny farm of people doing and saying the strangest things. Directed by Alyssa Furling and Adam Frank, the production benefits United Cerebral Palsy of Illinois, The Phoenix Center and The Sojourn Shelter. Sordid Lives had a long run in Los Angles where it premiered and won numerous Critics Choice and 14 Drama League Awards. Mature themes and language abound.
