Irish fte



The luck of the Irish, or at least the green, descends on downtown Springfield during the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Saturday, March 17, at high noon. The parade is emceed by Amie Menenghetti of COOL 101.9 and Liz Willis of 100.5 WYMG who are stationed at the reviewing stand in the family friendly area on Sixth Street. Parade marshals, The St. Andrew Society of Central Illinois, will be accompanied by almost 100 entries, including floats, school bands, radio personalities, Ansar Shriners clowns and cars, police and fire departments and more. The parade route snakes from Horace Mann on Jefferson, west to Fifth Street, south to Capitol Ave., then north on Sixth Street, and east on Washington Ave. More info can be found at
