Cinematic concert

Night at the Movies

Cinematography meets the symphony on Sunday, March 4, from 4-6:30 p.m., at the Hoogland Center for the Arts. Attendees of Night at the Movies will enjoy live performances of popular film soundtracks, as performed by the Sangamon Valley Civic Orchestra, while scenes from the films, as assembled by the Central Illinois Film Commission, play quietly in the background. This fun collaboration features scenes and sounds from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Saving Private Ryan, Gladiator and Oklahoma and is appropriate for all audiences. Sangamon Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra concerto competition winner, violinist Avia Wang, will also perform. Tickets are available in person or via phone from the Hoogland Center for the Arts box office. Proceeds from this event support the Sangamon Valley Civic Symphony.
