Love dogs?

The Illinois State Fairgrounds Exposition Building will host 1,200 to 1,300 dogs daily this Thursday through Sunday during the Annual Prairieland Classic AKC All Breed Dog Shows, one of the premier dog shows in the Midwest. In addition to the popular dog shows and competitions, a highlight of this year’s event will be the “Meet the Breed” booth on Saturday and Sunday, where attendees can learn about different dog breeds and meet owners of that breed and their dogs. Vendors selling dog supplies and toys and offering demonstrations will be present all weekend. The Prairieland Classic Dog Shows draw participants from three local American Kennel Clubs: the Mattoon Kennel Club, the Sandemac Kennel Club Inc. (Decatur) and the Illinois Capitol Kennel Club (Springfield). All events at the Prairieland Classic Dog Shows are free to the public.
