Taxi Tehran

The fourth film in the 25th Annual Molly Schlich Film Series is 2015’s Taxi Tehran. When Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi is banned from making movies by the Iranian government, he poses as a taxi driver to film a movie about social challenges in Iran. The result is a comedy/drama that captures portraits of everyday people. Taxi Tehran will be shown three times -- twice on Sunday, Jan. 31 (1 p.m. and 4 p.m.), as well as at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2. Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for students with ID. All showings are part of the Molly Schlich Independent and International Film Series, which brings eight critically acclaimed films to Springfield’s big screens across eight consecutive weeks. All proceeds from the series benefit the Springfield Art Association’s Michael Victor II Art Library. For more information about the Molly Schlich Film Series, visit http://springfieldart.org.
