Make a difference

If you or your organization is involved in charity work, you won’t want to miss this two-day conference led by Bob Lupton, author of Toxic Charity and Charity Detox. The conference is designed to teach leadership teams how to make sure their resources are helping to foster systematic change, as opposed to creating dependency and perpetuating the poverty cycle. Friday’s activities will include an overview of the Toxic Charity model from noon to 1 p.m., followed by an interactive workshop on Lupton’s new Charity Detox. Saturday’s activities will feature in-depth discussions and debriefing of the concepts presented on Friday. Saturday attendees who are unable to attend Friday’s presentation should familiarize themselves with Lupton’s work prior to attending. Admission is $10 for one day or $20 for both. Box lunches are available each day for just $10 per person. For more information about the event, call 553-4629.
